Vilanculos
Lodge |
Vilanculos Beach Lodge has re-opened, after an extensive closure. It has been rebuilt, and once again offers and excellent alternative to the properties on the nearby Bazaruto Archipelago. The Chalets and lodge buildings are now set on a ridge, which allows for some spectacular views.
The accommodation is comfortable and well-appointed, and all units are fitted with air conditioning, mosquito net, hairdryer, shaver plug point, electronic safe, fridge and a coffee and tea station. There are 22 luxury chalets and 1 Presidential suite. The chalets are also suitable for families.
The main Lodge area houses the lounge, reception, main bar and restaurant. This area leads into the garden, allowing for a refreshing escape and uninterrupted views of the sea. The large comfortable couches in the lounge provide the perfect place to relax indoors and the main bar is equally well-positioned overlooking the lush gardens, palm trees and pool in the distance.
There is a spacious restaurant which offers indoor or al fresco dining. Alternatively, you can dine under the palm trees or next to the pool. There is a mix of cuisine, but fresh seafood remains the specialty. A pizza oven situated near the pool bar offers the authentic wood-cooked cuisine. You can also make use of the pool bar, which offers a more relaxed atmosphere. A big screen TV for the sports fans, a selection of drinks, shooters, and cocktails are available from this fully equipped bar.
You can enjoy the large and inviting infinity pool on the beach front. It boasts a gentle sloped beach entry, martini double tiered seats, and Jacuzzi jets and bubbles with a stunning water feature. The beach entry accommodates wheel chair access, and is perfect for children, elderly or disabled patrons. A depth of 2m allows for scuba training, without compromising the comfort of other guests.
The lodge has a full equipped activities centre, and there are good number of activities on offer:
Scuba Diving (there are shallow and deep reefs to explore); snorkelling on 2 mile reef; parasailing; fishing (which is excellent year-round); skiing, wakeboarding or tubing which can all be enjoyed from the beach in front of the lodge; booze Cruise (day time, late afternoon and evening); whale watching (dolphins are seen year round and whales are seasonal visitors - excursions take place during the months of July to October)
In addition, a number of packages allow options for adventure, sport and recreation to suit your requirements. Enjoy an idyllic picnic on the pristine beaches of a deserted island, where calm indigo waters stretch to the horizon.
